About
“A dark comedy of shipwrecks and power” 📖 Synopsis A cruise ship sinks in the middle of the sea, and a diverse group of survivors arrives on an unknown island. What begins as a desperate struggle for survival soon transforms into a comic, cruel, and absurd mirror of ourselves. Who rules? Who obeys? Who gets to keep the coconuts? Amidst wet suitcases, coconuts, and bananas, the castaways will have to organize themselves to survive. What seemed like a deserted island becomes a stage for satire, where power, ambition, and even TikTok unleash conflicts that are all too familiar to us. 🌟 What to expect… Termino Medio is no ordinary play. It’s an irreverent and provocative show that combines dark comedy, absurdity, and sharp satire. The audience will be immersed in a world where: Survival merges with ambition. Aand everything is decided with banana and coconut leaves. Absurd humor reveals uncomfortable truths about our present. Each scene invites the audience to laugh at human and social shipwrecks, while reflecting on our own modern islands: polarization, power struggles, and the fragility of coexistence with one’s neighbor. Come prepared to be surprised, to laugh, to be uncomfortable, and to recognize yourself in this unique theatrical mirror. ℹ️ Genre: Dark and absurd comedy Language: Spanish with English subtitles Running time: 1 hour and 30 minutes (with intermission) Recommended audience: Teens and adults 📅 Performances Carol Theater – 8600 Westpark Dr STE 116, Houston, TX 77063 Friday, October 16, 2026 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2026 – 5:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2026 – 3:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2026 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2026 – 3:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. 🎟️ Tickets General Admission: $30 online presale / $35 at the door 👥 Cast Erick – The Captain: Jesus Lira Samuel – The Navigator: Jose Quintana Federico – The Pastor: Alan Balderas Azucena – The Pastor’s Wife: Aura Pereira Olegario – The General: Nardo del Sol Walter – The General’s Grandson: David Campos Yolanda – The Influencer: Kimberly Cutz Sebastián – The Traveler: Piero Alessandro Ana – The Shipwrecked: Janice Sosa 🎭 Credits Written and directed by: Alexandro Xilo Martínez Choreography: Jose Quintana A Production of the Hispanic Alliance for Performing and Audiovisual Arts “HAPAA is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance” ♿ Accessibility: Carol Theater is an accessible venue.
