Cinema & Agave

About

Join the Houston Latino Film Festival on Saturday, October 17, at 5 p.m., at Aurora Chapel (800 Aurora St, Houston, TX 77009) for CINEMA & AGAVE, an intimate evening celebrating cinema, culture, and community. The AGAVE PASS includes a guided tequila and mezcal tasting led by General Cupreata, where guests will explore the history, traditions, and craftsmanship behind each pour. Discover how agave varieties and production methods shape the flavors in your glass, while gaining a deeper appreciation for the people and communities who have preserved these traditions for generations in Mexico. The AGAVE PASS includes the full evening experience: a guided tequila and mezcal tasting led by General Cupreata, followed by the HLFF Supporters Social, featuring a complimentary taco bar, drinks from Saint Arnold Brewing Company and Tequila Centinela, and music by Santos Sounds. The evening concludes with a selection of Cine de Muertos short films. Most importantly, your purchase makes a direct impact. Proceeds will support HLFF's 2027 filmmaker development, educational, and industry programs, creating more opportunities for the next generation of Houston filmmakers to learn, connect, and grow. At full price, your ticket purchase may be tax-deductible as a charitable contribution to the extent permitted by law, less the fair market value of goods and services received. Houston Latino Film Festival is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. EIN: 47-3856087. Help us raise $5,000 for the next generation of filmmakers. For over a decade, the Houston Latino Film Festival has created educational opportunities that connect Houston filmmakers with artists and industry professionals. Now, we're looking to build on that work by expanding our filmmaker development and industry programming. Funds raised through Cinema & Agave will directly support HLFF's 2027 educational and industry programs, helping emerging filmmakers gain the knowledge, connections, and opportunities they need to grow.
