About
Cara Van Thorn is a gothic, neo-30s band with dynamic vocals that range from smooth to soaring, featuring piano, guitar, and instrumental cameos. Founded by Donkey Island alums Adam Donovan and Carrie Stephens, their sound is reminiscent of Blondie, Tori Amos, and Evanescence. The band describes their music as fitting right at home in a speakeasy, burlesque parlor, late night jazz club, or Tim Burton movie. Their hauntingly beautiful melodies are supported by signature harmonies, catchy drum beats, atmospheric trumpet, staccato piano lines, and expressive bass lines. The lyrics are surprising with dark imagery, with each song telling its own story. Must be 21 plus to enter unless accompanied by a legal guardian. Advance tickets are $7 plus $3 surcharge; day of show tickets are $15. Schedule: 6 PM Big Top Opens, 7 PM Cara Van Thorn.
