About
Life is busy, maybe even chaotic, and we all need a chance to slow down and tune into ourselves. Nature can help, but even in a serene setting like the Houston Botanic Garden, it's easy to get swept up in our thoughts, whether we're replaying a conversation, thinking about our to-do list, or spacing out. With a little structure, intention, and community connection, being present feels more intuitive, instead of one more task on your to-do list. Katy Dimple Manning, LCSW-S, will facilitate a walking meditation experience at the Garden. The event starts with attendees gathering to learn grounding and mindfulness skills, practicing them together, and connecting with one another (speaking is optional). Katy then gives an overview of different ways to approach walking meditation so you can choose what works best for you. Attendees can break off on their own, or stick with Katy, who will guide aloud while leaving plenty of quiet moments for reflection. The event concludes with participants coming together to share reflections, insights, or feedback and wrap up mindfully. Non-member ticket price: $20. Member ticket price: $5. Houston Botanic Garden offers free parking for daytime events.
