About
This spring, the Glassell Studio School offers a study trip to Los Angeles. Learn more about the spring 2027 travel course during this information session. The five-day adventure takes place in the most-filmed city in the world: Los Angeles. Led by Film Salon’s Chris Ballou, the trip explores the history of L.A. from pueblo to modern megalopolis, along with its most famous industry, movie-making. The excitement starts with check-in at the Hollywood Roosevelt, site of the first Academy Awards ceremony and rich with Hollywood history from the 1920s to today. City tours of downtown and the Hollywood Hills include a plethora of film locations and historic sites, expanded upon by visits to the Academy Library, Warner Bros. Studios, and the new LACMA; talks with industry professionals; meals at legendary eateries; and other surprises along the way. Come see why this city of paradoxes has become one of the most fascinating in the world for film enthusiasts, urban planners, and admirers of the Southern California version of the American Dream. Tuition is $2,600, with an installment option available for payment. Contact glassellschool@mfah.org to register or for more information. This event takes place in Favrot Auditorium, on Level 1 of the Glassell School of Art.
