About
Hank Schyma, founding member of the Southern Backtones, embarks on a solo effort after 15 years. Pecos Hank embodies what Schyma describes as the dark side of roots music, featuring moody Tex-Mex tunes, blues guitar, vintage surf tones, and rockabilly riffs. A split personality between nature-loving documentarian and traveling musician, Schyma is an aficionado of lonely highways, western fringe, tropical jungles, and New Orleans voodoo. His music incorporates captivating wildlife footage and storm imagery that has appeared in BBC Earth, National Geographic, The Weather Channel productions, and films including The Last Witch Hunter and Netflix's TAU.
